Houmt Souk
The island's main town is the place to start: covered souks, whitewashed squares and an old fort by the harbour.
Guellala, the potters' village
In the south of the island, this village has a long tradition of pottery. Workshops and shops let you see the craft up close.
Djerbahood and Erriadh
In the village of Erriadh, artists from around the world have painted the walls, creating an open-air gallery. The nearby El Ghriba synagogue is one of the island's best-known sites: check visiting conditions before you go.
Getting there
Djerba has its own airport and is linked to the mainland by a causeway at El Kantara and by a ferry at Ajim.
